In a controversial decision by the board, Grenewalt was dismissed after an eligibility error last year cost the boys' varsity basketball season several wins and playoff eligibility. After she left, the school had yet another eligibility problem that cost this year's girls' varsity field hockey team wins and playoff eligibility.
Fritzius is the treasurer of the Mid Penn Athletic Conference Board of Directors, and most recently worked as the athletic director for Red Land High School in West Shore School District, according to Red Lion officials. He also served as the athletic director at Northeastern High School.
Fritzius is a Penn State University graduate, and lives in York.
Superintendent Frank Herron could not be reached for comment on Friday.
